Kirstie Howell - Manager
Kirstie joined Fife Young Carers in 2018 having managed other young peoples services for several years. She is passionate about ensuring young carers in Fife can access the support which best suits their needs.
She provides support to the Fife Young Carers staff and also works closely with FYC's Management Committee, the local Young Carer's Strategy Group and at a national level with the Young Carers' Services Alliance. She’s based at our office in Lochgelly but really enjoys visiting the groups and spending time with young carers.
Jodie Burn - Team Leader
Jodie is the Team Leader for our Development Services. In this role, she will manage and coordinate our Development, Schools, Advocacy and Resource Workers to further support Young Carers throughout the Kindom. Jodie previously worked as our Schools Worker for West Fife; raising awareness of young carers issues in schools to ensure both staff and pupils have a greater understanding of the effects of a caring role. Jodie has supported young people and their families for a number of years and is committed to providing person centred care to young carers.
Lindsey MacRae - Team Leader
Lindsey joined Fife Young Carers in August 2020 as the Team Leader for our Support Services. Lindsey has 20 years of experience working with children and young people in a number of different settings, including residential, education and youth work. She will be managing and assisting our Support Workers to improve outcomes for Young Carers.
Regan Ball - Administrator
Regan is our Administrator, and joined Fife Young Carers in 2018. Regan's job is to keep everything running smoothly. Every day is different and sometimes she doesn’t end up doing the things she’s planned to do for the day!
She’s usually the first person you'll hear on the phone, and works office hours Monday to Friday (you can leave a message out with these hours). Regan also supports the service as a Sessional Worker; working directly with our Young Carers at Support Groups.
Amber Reid - Development Worker
Amber joined us here at FYC in 2016. Her main responsibilities are training and information, both for Young People and Professionals across Fife. She provides specific training for Young Carers to improve their skills, access to opportunities, Mental and Physical health; all aimed at reducing the impact of their caring roles. Amber is also responsible for the Young Carers Authorisation Card Scheme and helps facilitate the Young Carers Participation Group.
Dawn Murray - Schools Worker
Dawn’s role is to raise awareness with staff and pupils in school about the issues young carers face, ensuring they are supported to reduce the impact of caring on their education. Dawn has worked with children and young people throughout her working life and is dedicated to providing support to young carers.
Wilson Macduff - Advocacy Worker
Wilson joined the team in 2018 and works 1:1 with our Young and Young Adult Carers, giving them and their families a voice and providing information. He also supports the completion of Emergency Plans with our Young Carers - giving peace of mind to themselves and their families should the worst happen.
Lynn Morgan-Hill - Resource Worker.
Lynn has recently joined the team as a Resource Worker. Lynn has worked in the Third Sector for a number of years and her most recent role seen her working in schools with Children and Young People promoting positive emotional wellbeing. Lynn and Kerri will be responsible for the completion of Young Carers Statements with our Young Carers, as well as training professionals on how to complete these.
Kerri Bilsborough - Resource Worker.
Kerri will also be supporting Young Carers as a Resource Worker with us. Previously, Kerri had worked with Children and Young People in a variety of settings, including Youth Participation and Residential environments. Along with Lynn, Kerri is responsible for supporting Young Carers through the provision of Young Carers Statements.
Katie Macfarlane - Befriending Coordinator.
Katie recently joined our team as Befriending Coordinator to support Young and Young Adult Carers access social opportunities and activities within their community. Having worked with children and young people in an educational setting before, Katie will be responsible for the recruitment of befrienders and matching them to Young and Young Adult Carers who need it most.
Kay Templeman - Support Worker, Glenrothes & Levenmouth areas.
Kay has been a Support Worker for Young Carers since 2003, covering the Glenrothes and Levenmouth areas. She enjoys the varied role she has as well as spending time with children and young people.
Rachael Martin - Support Worker, Kirkcaldy.
Having worked with children and young people for around 10 years, Rachael is passionate about supporting Children and Young People. She joined the team in 2017 and supports young carers living in the Kirkcaldy area.
Rebecca Mellon - Support Worker, West Fife.
Rebecca joined our team in October 2019, having previously worked with children and young people in a variety of settings, including education and the voluntary sector. Rebecca is excited to be supporting Young Carers in the West Fife area.
Charlie Bowie - Support Worker, East Fife.
Charlie has grown and developed her role within our organisation for some time. She was a Young Carer with us throughout her teen years, then went on to become an active member of our Participation and Engagement group and then came on board with us as a sessional worker. We are pleased to say that she has now taken up the position of Support Worker for NE Fife and will be supported Young Carers from that area.
Allison Logan - Young Adult Carers Worker, East Fife
Allison has worked with young people for a number of years, most recently working young people in a residential setting. She provides person centred one to one support for young adult carers living in the East of Fife. Our service to young adult carers aims to improve their personal development and ensure they are able to sustain their education, training or employment.
Claire Simpson - Young Adult Carers Worker, West Fife
Claire previously worked with young adults with additional support needs. She joined our team in June 2019 as our YAC Worker for the West of Fife and provides 1:1 support aimed at improving YAC's outlook on life and helping them reach a positive destination. She was employed as a sessional worker for FYC before coming on board full time.
